I have heard a poem somewhat like this for years. My mom taught it to me whan I was young, I am 45.
It starts out “one dark night in broad daylight, two dead soilders begin to fight, back to back they face each other, drew their swords and shot each other. . . I found the poem on one of the web site last year and printed it off. I have no idea who wrote it or when it was writen.

I thought it went like this, one dark night in broad daylight two dead boys came out to fight. they took there swords and shot each other the deft policeman heard this noise and ran to shot the two dead boys, if you do not believe this lie so true ask the blind man for he saw it too.

This poem is so much the sentiment of my heart. I really enjoyed it. My mom is not with, she passed on Mother’s Day in 2007. It has been one lonely year that I just felt my world was falling apart. Even though I have a wonderful family that has been fulfilling and the very thing that makes me happy, losing my mom has been so indescribable. I love God with all my heart and loving Him is first in my life but this thing about losing a mother just got me real bad. I have always been somewhat independent and lived somewhat apart. Now I have times that I wish I had been the child that hung around more and maybe I would not feel that I missed something. But, I would not wish her back because she was so sick in her last days. She had cancer of the pancreas, but she lived a whole year in good health seemingly until the last 3 she went downhill. I hope this does not bore you in the least. I hope that you are encouraged to keep writing. Good luck in all your writing. madeargail
